Emily Reviews: LoveBeauty
I'm all for a facial. Not only does it mean taking time out for you and your self care (and golly, can that work wonders for your wellbeing - mentally and physically!), but a good facial provides a bit of a workout for your skin too.
A microdermabrasion or peel will help to deep clean your skin, shifting dead skin cells and preventing pore blockages while encouraging skin cell regeneration and renewal.
I recently popped over to LoveBeauty Skin Clinic - one of our gorgeous stockists, and a clinic I work closely with as a skin-focused naturopath - for a customised facial treatment. Here's how it went...
First up, Rachel applied a plant-based enzyme peel. Featuring melon, the peel's active ingredients work to stimulate blood flow and circulation to areas of congestion, in turn upping oxygen supply to the cells, as well as drainage of built-up toxins.
While the concepts of 'face' and 'peel' aren't necessarily ones that spring to mind on a perfect-match type level when you first hear them used together, enzyme peels work beautifully to exfoliate the skin by digesting dead skin cells, whilst safely leaving healthy skin cells safely alone.
The Melon-based enzyme peel I had is perfect for dull, congested, and even acne-prone skins, and mine was followed by an Alginate Mask.
I'd seen the Alginate mask all over social media, and knew it would be covering my eyes and mouth. And, to be totally honest, I wasn't sure how I'd feel about that. Turns out: loved it! The mask is designed to rehydrate, repair, restore and nourish the skin post-peel, and felt both incredibly light and yet deeply nourishing at the same time.
An ABIA finalist, Rachel's care, knowledge and passion for skin consistently blows me away. If you're looking for a beauty therapist to tailor treatments to your skin, you'd be silly to look past LoveBeauty. Truly.
